Phu My PCC 2.2 Project

Background

Phu My Power Plant 2.2 with a total investment of $480 million, invested by the Mekong Energy Company (MECO), is established from a group of leading energy and trading groups in the world, these include French Power Corporation (EDF 56.25%), two Japanese companies are SUMITOMO (28.125%) and TEPCO (15.625%). The project was started in early 1999 and inaugurated on 21/10/2005 will be exploited within 20 years.

Phu My 2.2 is a new generation natural gas combined cycle power plant with two General Electric 9FAe class F gas turbines and a D11 steam turbine, a state-of-the-art technology that allows homes 715MW generator with 56% efficiency.

Challenges

This is a project was construction during the operation of the plant, so HHE encountered many difficulties when limited work schedule.
